Luna: Arrival in Fairview

Luna joined our herd on February 13, 2022. We purchased her from Chris Richards in Willard, Utah. We were told she is a 12 year old Gypsy Vanner-Quarter Horse cross. She appears to be a red roan sabino, mostly cream colored in the winter and then sheds out to some roaning. She has the white sclera and striped hooves that might point towards Appaloosa, but I believe it's mostly from sabino. Her mane and tail are cream colored. She is "gaited", but don't know where that could have come from. It is a 4 beat gait, but not pacey or a fox trot. (we have since had her gait analyzed and told it is a "saddle rack" also known as "paso corto" in the Paso Fino breed.) She may be part Paso. I mean that gait had to come from somewhere. Her name was "Lola" when we got her. We were told it had been changed from "Lolita". I toyed with the idea of rhyming with Lola, like "Zola", but eventually chose "Luna" because she's the color of the moon.
